Court: Single or Joint Expert
I provide expert witness services for court cases involving equine issues. I am totally familiar with the relevant Civil Procedure Rules and experienced in presenting in court.

Those instructing me can be assured that I will at all times assist the court whilst responding to the most robust cross examination. All reports will present clear, authoritative opinions backed by solid evidence and the most up to date equine scientific knowledge.

I will work closely with legal teams to ensure that my report is aligned with case objectives and presented effectively to the court, enhancing the credibility and strength of the client’s legal argument if a sole instruction. When jointly instructed, fair and balanced assistance will be provided, to help the court assess all the equestrian elements of the claim.
​​Instructions under the Animals Act, Consumer Relations Act, Supply of Goods and Services Act as well as general breach of contract and or negligence are welcomed.
Expert Witness Services
My expert witness services cover a wide range of equine-related cases, including personal injury, sales and purchases, road traffic accidents, syndicate and insurance disputes, as well as veterinary negligence including vetting.

I provide thorough, well-documented evidenced opinions based on my extensive equine experience and decades of riding and competition horse ownership, nationally and internationally: this is combined with cutting edge up to date equine science to explore and explain the basis on which any opinions are offered.

I can assist in guiding a case, from an initial advice note, to highlighting the key issues to enable the effective garnering of evidence. Site visits and direct welfare assessments of horses are all an important opportunity to provide direct information to assist legal teams or the court.

Valuations are provided for ownership disputes, syndicate dissolution, executors and under the Family Procedure Rules for divorce cases.
Consultation & Mediation
I offer professional consultation services tailored to horse owners, (sole and syndicated) riders, breeders, equestrian facilities, trainers, and legal professionals. While I practice within the law of England and Wales, I am cognisant of other jurisdictions and have been involved with horse litigation in the USA, Holland, Belgium, Italy and Germany.

My consultations include advice on equine welfare and health, training practices, and all matters related to horse ownership and management. I aim to provide clear, actionable guidance to help you make informed decisions and resolve issues effectively.

I also offer tailored mediations, whether facilitating settlements or determinative. Often decisions in horses can not wait for prolonged court proceedings as their health or qualification timelines necessitate swift interventions guided by the parties rather than dictated by the court timetable.

My initial case review process involves a comprehensive evaluation of all relevant materials, including medical/veterinary records, training logs, and witness statements, this may include video and premises or horse inspections.
